A year in review: 2012 {bring on 2013}

2012 was a crazy year for me and the business. I was killing my self working full time and shooting weddings this summer. I quit my full time job in October and it has been the best thing I have ever done. Thank you to all my couples and 2012 weddings to help me make my dreams come true. I could not of done it without you. 2013 brings new challenges, new couples and new beginnings. I look forward to giving you the best experience for your wedding :) Here are all my 2012 couples. I loved meeting all of you and getting to know you and thank you for letting me be a part of your special day :)

Moments

A picture can tell a thousand words. A picture can represent something so valuable in life that if lost you will be lost. A picture can be so powerful it can bring you to tears. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. It may be the only time you have that many family members in the same room. How important is it to catch dad crying while walking you down the isle. How important is is it to you to capture grandma and grandpa perhaps having their last dance. To me it is very important and its why I do what I do. To me these images are what tell the story and capture a glimpse in time.

One of my favorites quotes from Cliff Mautner, ” “What is depth of field without depth of emotion.”

Ryan + Bri {Shenandoah Iowa Wedding}

It was a long journey but it was well worth it, to Shenandoah Iowa that is. Ryan is too sweet to Bri and I can tell how much he cares about her. Bri is the sweetest person ever and has such good taste! The wedding colors were soft, beautiful and romantic and I loved that. Enjoy :)

Kyle + Seabrin {Proposal}

This is the second proposal I was honored to capture. They make me so nervous!! It’s such a great idea though since its a very very important time in your life. Kyle and Seabrin have been together Foooorrrrreeeeevvvveeeeer… It’s about time :) So happy for you two! Congratulations :)

Pat + Lacey {Branson MO wedding}

This was one wet and wild and crazy day. But oh so much fun!! I love Pat and Lacey’s personality, especially together. Lacey said that she wants to love Pat the least on this day so their love can grow stronger everyday and I though that was the sweetest thing! The rain did not stop us from having a wild and crazy fun day. The hills of Branson, MO looked amazing with the fog from the rain so I was not complaining. The real party happened when we arrived at the Chateau on the Lake. Enjoy :)

Justin + Kaley {Hermann Winery Wedding}

This was a dream weddings. I am so thrilled that Kaley invited me to be a part of her special day. Everything was so relaxed and low key and that is just the way Justin and Kaley wanted it. Such a beautiful couple and a great day. If I redid my wedding I would defiantly consider Hermann MO and the Hermannhof Vineyards. Enjoy :)

Mike + Julie {Kansas Wedding}

So blessed to be a part of Mike and Julie’s wedding day. Julie looked absolutely stunning and Mike looked pretty handsome as well. :) Their girls were there through out the whole day, helping Julie get ready and telling her how pretty she looked. They were so lucky to be the second wedding the have their reception at The Dark Horse Distillery. Everything looked amazing and they did such a great job. Enjoy :)

Rob + Ashli {Overland Park Wedding}

Rob and Ashli are too sweet together. At their engagement session found here, you can really see how deeply they care about each other. When I got to Ashley’s house that morning where she was getting ready, I was in tears within on hour of being there. Ashli lost her mother and a close family friend had stopped by. Ashli gave her a present that was a black dress that they had bought while looking for a dress to wear to an occasion. It was so special and had everyone in the room in tears. Another thing that made me almost lose it. Rob got Ashli a hibiscus plant and it had never flowered. The morning of their wedding it was raining and two flowers blossomed that day. And only two. It was a sign that someone special was there with her on that day and wanted to show her and it was so amazing. Their ceremony took place at the beautiful chapel of Wesley Chapel in Leawood Kansas. Reception following at the TC Dance Club of Overland Park, KS. I had never shot there and its a great venue. You two are great people and I wish you the best! Enjoy :)
