February Feature: Fusion Fitness - Sweat with your Sweetie

This is the first feature of the monthly feature series and I am so excited to feature my favorite place to sweat: Fusion Fitness. This place will get you in the right mindset for your upcoming wedding; mentally and physically. I have been working out at Fusion for 3 years now and I never get tired of it. Not only do the workouts rock my world, I just love how they make you feel good. Always uplifting, good moods and reminding us of gratitude.

According to owner and creator, Darby Brender, “We have developed a system that will transform your body by elongating your muscles, decreasing body fat, improving cardiovascular endurance and increasing flexibility.”

1. What can people expect when they come to Fusion Fitness?

First and foremost, you can expect to sweat! We provide intense, results-driven workouts that push our clients past their comfort zones and create change. Our studios are upbeat, positive and have a community feel - many clients get to know each other by coming to the same class times and we all bond over working hard and feeling good. Fusion instructors love to meet new clients - always introduce yourselves and they are happy to answer any questions and get you settled!

2. What is your favorite class and why?
I like Fusion - it’s our original class designed to elongate muscles, burn fat and shape the long, lean physiques of strong, feminine women. I designed Fusion to basically knock out your toning and cardio in the same hour - I had spent so much time in the gym focusing on my muscles one day and trying to burn fat with cardio the next. I wanted a class that did both, and Fusion is how I accomplished that goal! I love seeing the energy in our classes filled with clients pushing so hard to overcome their next challenge - whether it’s doing 5 more reps than yesterday, moving up to toe push-ups from their knees or striving to hold a plank for 10 more seconds. It’s amazing what we can all do it we put our minds to it!
3. How is Fusion Fitness the perfect place to get in shape for your wedding? What are my options?
The most important part of getting ready for a wedding is creating your best, most positive self to have all eyes on you and get excited for a lifetime with your man. Plus, who doesn’t want defined triceps for your dress or a high and tight booty to shake on the dance floor? Working out at Fusion not only affects the way your body looks - but most importantly, how you feel. Pushing yourself to your max in our classes gives you a huge sense of accomplishment and leads to more confidence, happiness and strive to complete other goals in life. Fusion offers full-body workouts in every class, and we like to recommend alternating between are higher impact classes (those that say “wear sneakers” on the schedule) and lower impact (the ones that do not.) We also love throwing a couple Fusion Fly spin classes in the mix per week to increase fat burning and up cardio endurance.

4. What’s something fun, my fiance and I can do together at Fusion Fitness?

Working out with your partner is such a fun and special way to do something different, release endorphin’s to burn-off pre-wedding stress, and spend positive time together. Though our studios are about 98% women, we always welcome men - they especially love our “sneakers” classes and Fusion Fly spin classes. Every year for Valentine’s Day we do our Sweat with Your Sweetie workouts - 90 minutes of cardio, toning, and major sweat (and we even have childcare available!) We also do Fly with Your Guy classes all year-round - regular 60 minute spin classes for the man in your life - whether it’s your boyfriend, hubby, dad, brother…you get the idea. It’s always fun to see their reaction when they realize our workouts are the real deal!

5. Any topics you want to highlight or incorporate to attract newly engaged girls?
Getting into the habit of exercising takes a little bit, so we encourage you to start sooner than later. There are a ton of things on your bridal to-do list, but remember the most important factor to your wedding being fabulous is YOU. You want to feel beautiful and confident on your big day, so make sure you take care of your body in the months leading up to it by exercising, eating healthy, nutrient-rich foods and taking time for yourself. Every hour at Fusion not only pushes you along towards your fitness goals, but allows you the time to de-stress, focus on you and feel totally good about your body and mind. If you need extra help we have two amazing programs - Weight Loss Boot Camp (12-weeks) and AmpCamp (6-8 weeks). We also have Fusion DVDs to squeeze in at home and our brand new YouTube channel - Sweat Lab Fitness - to squash time excuses (each video is 3-8 minutes and we promise, you’ll sweat) and distract you from mindless snacking and stress-eating! We love helping women create their best selves, because we know how good it feels to continually overcome new challenges and be amazed by your own strength and perseverance on the road to your goals.
